(EOL) SD Card Prototyping Board
ST-SD

RoHs Compliant

Storage Media

EOL: This model is obsolete. A new version may be available.

The ST-SD is a prototyping board designed for interfacing standard Secure Digital (SD)Memory Card form factor devices (such as SD Memory Cards, SD Wireless cards, etc.).

The board can be used in many different ways including intercepting the SD signal between a host and a device for easy debugging of the SDIO signals; adding a SD connector to a prototype; or creating a prototype of an SDIO device that can be inserted into an SD slot in a host (such as a PC , Camera, etc.)

A standard 0.1” pitch, 9-pin header can be soldered to J2, allowing developers access to the SDIO signals.

Will this adapter work with SDHC or SDXC cards?
In short, yes, the converter will function with all three formats (SD, SDHC, and SDXC).

However, this mainly depends on the SD controller used in the host device you intend to insert the card and the adapter in (ie. your TabletPC, Cell Phone, Camera, etc).

Basically, you need to check if your host device will support SDHC and SDXC. Here is the basic rule of thumb:

SD cards will work in any host device which supports SD, SDHC, or SDXC.
SDHC cards will only work in host devices which support SDHC or SDXC.
SDXC cards will only work in host devices which support SDXC.

Here is a link to an article from SanDisk explaining this in further detail:
http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2520/~/sd%2Fsdhc%2Fsdxc-specifications-and-compatibility

If your host device does not support SDXC then you may be able to contact the manufacturer of your device and ask if a firmware upgrade is available which will allow you to use SDXC cards with your device.
